IMG_0467.jpeg IMG_0466.jpeg Got some trim kinda half on, my neighbor made a door trim for the p***enger side out of a handful of other 4dr trim since I don’t have that doors trim. Looks pretty good for a patch job.

3M caulking strips. It's a rope-like caulking, about 1/4" in diameter, 10" or so long. comes in a box with wax paper between the layers of strips. Your paint supply shop should have it. Heads up: make sure the box you get wasn't crushed.

Trims on, skirts on, lights work, and I think it’s about done needs a bath and little things and more buffing, but it won’t look much different until I can put together enough money to lower it more and some other things like electric wipers and so forth.

    thanks alot to this group.

Thanks man! Yeah they were a pain but I like they they hold the trim tight.
I had to use 2 factory clips on the fender trim and 2 on the under headlight trim but luckily the originals were ok and luckily I had exactly enough of them.

drove it today, to get exhaust but they quoted me too much money in my opinion so we rode around a bit have a little trouble with it over heating but I think cheap Chinese fan and radiator are the culprit.

I bought an 8” rearend with a 3.00 gear to be rid of the Dana 45 and 4.x gear.

    So little more progress.

If your radiator has 2 rows it should be fine. Just make sure coolant moves thru it at idle as that’s the problem with YBlocks. A fan shroud really helps and I’ve made them from circle track kits from Summit. With less room I’ve used 1” aluminum cookie sheets against the radiator and cut a hole for the fan. A ring of aluminum added for depth or mounting an electric fan in my race car.
I don’t know if the Merc had them but Fords also used a panel above the radiator and its mount to seal to the hood forcing all the air thru the grille into the radiator, that really helps.
    It’s fun following your build.

When you get to your rear end swap can you post a picture of your third member. I'm trying to figure out what mine is. I have it out now getting it ready to replace the bearings.

thanks alot Jimmy, I have a 302 in this car and one thing I noticed is that radiator flow is very low at idle however, I’m idling at 500rpm raise to 700 and there’s flow. With the new spal fan I can’t get it to run hotter. It runs at 140 now so I’m changing the fan switch when I get back in the garage.
