Technical What’s this Ford grill?

This is just sitting in a field. Any idea what it’s from.

 

Grill is model A. The hood is not

This should be more than obvious, that its a Ford, Model A radiator "shell", not a "grille"
Just making a clarification.

As stated, 31 A model grille shell. Appears to be the stock radiator. The grille shell is stainless steel, can be made to shine like new money. The radiator is copper/br***. Take it home if its available, even if you dont want it, somebody is looking for one Good Luck.

 

He doesn't have a build Thread but a number of posts piece it together...you are right though a lot of profile links are dead...and then the redx's...

Maybe its just me, a cynical old man...but I find it hard to believe anyone on the HAMB does not recognize a Model A radiator shell. They are probably the most prolific ones ever made. But, now you know..

 

31 Model A, the insert on top is painted, the 30 is smooth at the top, both are stainless steel, HRP

 

Ah, come on. That one's on one year only and not all of them.

 

I had a “feeling” it was Model A, but no real knowledge. I can tell the difference between a 55 and 56 Chevy PU though

 

I sort of agree, but then again everyone saw one for the FIRST TIME. No longer are there fields or woodlands filled with old cars of the 1930's. It was Great fun to spot them in the Fall as the leaves fell and the hidden treasures could be seen.

Yes. I’m using brookville panels. I made the frame from 11ga cold rolled. The ch***is is ‘41 ford pieces.

 

Yeah I would have guessed model A pretty quickly but it does read off like it’s for a truck or four door. Most 30-1 cars I see don’t run a 30-1 grill where 28-9 have a higher chance of running a stock grill shell.

add a painted insert and I could see the confusion. I wouldn’t feel bad about asking about it.

 

Painted insert is stock on 31's.

 

Car , - but you can use it on a truck or tractor if you so wish……….

 

1931 Model A shell, like the others said. Looks like a good wall hanger.
