I know of Willy's carb and dyno in Mt. Carmel, Ill. Mainly racing. However I don't have a phone number or anything but it'll give you a place to look.

Back in the day, George Willy was the place to take your car for a "dyno tune". Anyone who was anyone, had a yellow Clayton Dyno decal on their window.

They were on Western Avenue in Blue Island, but I'm not sure if they're still in business. I looked in the South Suburban phone book and didn't see any listing. Stu

Willys was in the 12700 block of Western in Blue Island . A call to directory ***istance has no listing for them anymore. I know the building is still there. Bill Haas used to work for them years ago . He may know the rest of the story. If I can contact him will post his reply.

Ya that the shop Im talking about. I know they were very busy back
when carbs rule the world. We take a car up there and get there early
Just to see what he had on the dyno.

I had my car dyno tuned at Midwest Hot Rods in Plainfield. They did a good job, but not cheap. Maybe the price was higher because I've got weber side drafts and I know they can be a bit more trouble.

It sure sounds like Willy's is not in business anymore. Good luck. Stu

  13. Willy's in Mt Carmel is one of THE best you'll find. They primarily do race application, but I'm quite sure they'll do you up a street carb. They build their own carbs and have a ch***is dyno. They are used on several Busch cars and some Cup cars.He was heavily recruited several years ago by Dale Earnhardt himself.
