Technical 1935 Ford wire wheel balancing

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Roberto delvalle, Nov 8, 2023.

  1. I am getting new tires for my 1935 Ford that has original wire wheels. The tires I am replacing are new but were defective and the store is replacing them with new tires under warranty. The old Ford wire wheels are not hub center they are lug center.
I live in Miami Florida and when I installed the tires that I am replacing I could not find one shop that would do lug center balancing. I used a 1929 hub as an adapter to lug balance. It was a lot of work but we balanced the wheels.
My question is, have any of you used the hub centering technique to balance the wheels?. Or can you recommend another centering technique, also dynamic vs static balancing?

Back the brakes off and use your front axle.
