Good to see some old members here, I was member #315, joined up last century!

I have met some great people and learnt truck-loads here. I don't post much lately but it's still my go to site for vintage tech and build threads.

I joined in 2006. I think when the new HAMB took over I lost interest and about the same time I bought a cabin on the lake, which I spent my time working on (took a break from building hotrods) for a few years. I still lurked on here and learned a ton!! For the life of me I could not remember my password and apparently my email address had changed. When I saw this post I dug a little deeper, tired various passwords and now TwistedMetal is back. Last year I did register as a different user, so I should have someone help me get rid of that?

  5. I found the HAMB via a search for "American Graffiti" in 2003.

For awhile, really a long while, my wife referred to the HAMB as a 'cult'. I lived, breathed, ate and slept on the HAMB. Met so many people... bought parts from others (Donzie, Levi's Classic). We went to Texas to check out a car kartbuilder was selling. Was a card carrying (well, sticker anyway) member of the GBM (would that moniker even fly in this day and age?) Did a calendar stuffing or two at Denise's. Did meet and greets at Autorama. Have a couple Alliance Member tags that never made it on a car. Then, one day, and for no particular reason, it all kinda just went away for me. Sure, I'd check in now and again, but it wasn't **quite** the same. Thankfully, I still keep in touch with the some of the other GBMs, such as Fat Hack, Mercman1951 and hotrodladycruiser. Haven't been to an Autorama in about 10 years or so... hopefully the basement is still where it's at.

I came back this week looking up info for our newest project- a Model A speedster. Unfortunately, I forgot my password for my 'main' account, but had this one I didn't even know about so I'm still able to login. Reading this, I had flashbacks to those late nights, watching some newbie get flamed or reading Germ's posts... it seems like a lifetime ago, and in some ways it was.

    They were some great times.

I still seem to get myself into some overwhelming projects, one day I'll learn.
