I have a Galaxie 500 with Cragars S/S rims on it the one in front have center washers on them but the ones on the back which are wider only had one off set on each side. Question one do I need 5 offset washers on each wheel? Question two, the offset washer says "wheel side" on it. What dose that mean? The lettering goes against the Wheel or the fat part of the washer goes toward the center of the hub?

Unilug wheels with oval shaped washers? How about some pics?

  3. The Cragar "uni-lug" wheels I am familiar with were designed to fit either the Ford 4.5" bolt circle or the Chevy 4.75" bolt circle. They used 5 offset washers on each wheel and you oriented them for the appropriate bolt circle (fat side to hub for Chevy, fat side away from hub for Ford. The washers were also tapered along the edge and marked "wheel side" and required to be properly torqued.

Yes, we do need pictures of a 64 Ford Galaxie with S/S Cragars !

  5. Fat side against hub for 5x5, skinny side for 5x4.5, centered washer for 5x4.75.
