Ever since Ryans thread and build of the full-fendered side project in 2016 that little A couple has consumed me. I started my build about four years ago with bare frame rails and a clapped out body not to clone or imitate that car but make my own version loosely based off the same inspiration. While that original car is definitely more authentic to a old style hot rod, I wanted almost the feel of a stocker visually like grandpas old A got hot rodded. The underpinnings are a little more street Roddy than I like to admit but wanted something daily driver and suitable for long distance runs. I will say at least its carbureted and has points but don't want to muddy up the HAMB with boring SBC's. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/a-full-fendered-side-project.1009053/
Awesome! Turned out great I’ve always loved the “side project” and really enjoy getting stuck behind @Rand Man in it
Your car is about perfect for the look and a true period hot rod with a bad ass back story. The reason I didn't want to be similar enough to be compared too or appear I imitated but more a inspiration. Thanks for all the kind words everyone.
You've done an extraordinary job! It almost brings me to tears thinking about my '29 standard coupe that I had in college. I sold it to pay back my parents for loaning me the money to buy my second car while in college (a '64 barracuda). Wish I had both of 'em now. If I still had the Model A, I would hunt down a '57 DeSoto four-door with a 341 hemi that my neighbor had back at that time and pull the engine for the coupe. I think I know where it is, too, but that's just a fantasy I entertain . . . often.
