    IMG_7927.jpeg Hi all,

can anybody supply me with a pic of what the area circled in red looks like on a factory V-8? This is the V-8 latch but the hood was originally off a 6 cyl truck. I want to fabricate patches for the notched area. Just want to make sure it looks like what I am thinking. I am thinking the hood just continues like the 1st pic. Thanks. IMG_7920.jpeg

I had to do the same thing with a '41 hood converted to '40 latch bar as pictured above. I simply welded sheet metal in the open spaces to mimic the '40 hood and bolted it together. It all worked out.

I did d the same thing - welded on what I needed and made the latch mechanism a bolt on like stock. I have found however, and this may be a problem only with my truck, the main latch will not hook in all the way (the hd main hood latch). I am using the lower holes for the hood arms - I may move the hood arms to the upper holes and see if the new angle to the grille portion of the latch is any better …… I did use all 40 Standard hood latch and grille pieces
