I know their are places that make repro glass mullins trailer bodies BUT is any one aware of any one that reproduces sheet metal repair body parts?? Thanks Tom
I once owned a Mullins, I believe it was serial number 23**. At that time they were a hot item and no one made panels for them, I don’t believe there is a source for them now. The basic shapes are not that complicated, a good sheet metal shop or hot rod shop could fab something for you. I remember the little things were the most difficult parts to find, the original hitch, parking lever, original wheels and hubcaps, and extras like the tent were very desirable. The rear latches are 35-36 Ford humpback, the front hinges are from a 30’s Chevy. They are very unique trailers and draw quite a bit of interest, just don’t try to back one up using a vehicle, the tongue to axle center line is too short.
Try The Mullins Owners Club. PO box 387 Hardy Ar. 72542 . For reproduction parts, try Ed Carr PO box 62, Cortland OH 44410 . Or join the club & find more info & material.
I had one for years. It came from the Kansas Game And Parks Department. Was in fairly good shape and was rust free. That was back in 82 and not very many parts wee available so I had to be creative with hinges and the latch. Pulled it behind a couple deuce sedans, parked it and a couple years ago it went to a new home in Wyoming.
Thats cool. There was an owners club back in the day that was run by two owners, Mike and ?? They published a book on the trailer and offered a few reproduction items.
When our twin girls were small and we went to a lot of NSRA shows I had a 40 Ford sedan and being in the road for a week the 40 sedan didn't have a big enough truck so I bought a fiberglass Mullins trailer. We used it a lot when they were small, I haven't used it in years and it's in the barn, I think in the future I'll dig it out and use it again. HRP
Thanks Hot Rod Primer for posting the picture. Rocky mountains with fellow deuce guys. 1993. I left home pulling that Mullins with 35 miles on the sedan. Went to Louisville NSRA nats, across the country to Santa Fe NM, did tourist stuff for a few days, then up to Durango CO more tourist stuff and up to Dillon CO for a few days with friends then home to NE. With all our touring about 4000 miles. Gave the sedan and Mullins a workout. No problems.
