Was wondering what type of hub these are? They look slightly different than 39/41 ford and way different from 42-48. They are 5x5.5” bolt pattern.

I planned to run them with new drums that go over the outside (hub inside) for my model a.

they seem to be tapered on the outside and the outer bearing is smaller than other front 42-48 drums I have.

any ideas? Hopefully they’re not mechanicals.

and any good techniques to get rusty bearing seals out? Other than PB blaster

You get the seals out by driving a br*** punch on the inner race of the inner bearing, and the seal comes out with the bearing. No idea on the hubs. Did the brake drum come off without cutting the swedge around the studs?

Probably F-1 or F-100. Rich B will know and be along shortly.

Yep, looks like a F-1 hub.

I’m guessing they’re f100 unless this pic is wrong.

which from what the other threads posted on this one show that they take late model bronco rear drums.

but my question is if I can use these f100 hubs with the reproduction parts dealer hub inside drums and standard early ford backing plates and 37-41 spindles?

I’m gonna have to source some rear hubs for my next project. Looks like a nice cheap way to build up some juice brakes for a early ford.

in any case thanks for your help everyone.

F-100 hub will put the drums too close to the backing plate. A F-1 hub is close to the same offset as an early Ford hub and will work with Boling Bros repop drums. You will also need a centering ring to mate the pilot on the hub to the center bore of the drum.

    from Yakima WA.

Do you have bearing numbers? That might help you figure out what you have.

Yeah I see what youre saying. Looking at them side to side with a 42-48 style front hub I dont thinnk theyll work.

Dang, guess I'm on the hunt for some 40/41 style front hubs now.

Thanks for your help and time everyone,
    Gordy
