    Hello,
I have ***embled my 1937 Chevy MD sedan and was wondering if anyone had tips for installing my runningboards WITHOUT loosening the front/rear fenders... The fenders took me forever to fit and get the fender welt perfect.... I understand I will probably have to do it all again, but maybe someone had another way? (The parts are all painted btw)

    Thank you!

'37 truck fenders bolt to the running boards, I'am sure the cars do too, so you will likely have to start with the running board then add fenders, thats how I had to do my truck. You can slot the running board mounting holes for more give when fitting them up.

Thank you JOE! I guess I was hoping for another idea... Im going to try attaching the boards to the brackets and see if I can attach the brackets to the frame... If that isnt going to work, Ill start pulling these FREAKIN fenders.

Truck here as well so not 100% sure about the car but yeah boards had to go on first. I even wrote a note on the wall of my garage to remind myself when it was time for final ***embly as I had fought with them trying to get them on with the fenders on during mock up.. You might be able to get them on while attached to the brackets but I am going to guess it will be a fight.

  5. I did this many years ago, and from memory, the running boards had a cover which had the rubber glued on, and a bunch of little nuts underneath holding it on. This is how it was done on the Australian bodied Chevy's, so probably the same in the U.S. Are you replacing the cover or the whole running board? The cover comes off real easy.
