I just bought a 1928 roadster pickup. It was delivered this morning. I am still buzzing , maybe too much coffee but still buzzing!
The plan is traditional AV8 , fenders , 16 inch wires and leave as much patina as I can. The body is real straight as well as the bed. A few minor issues but far fewer than were on my coupe.
Did I say that I was buzzing! Gonna have another coffee then go out and look at it some more. 20231118_101154.jpg 20231118_101147.jpg 20231118_101133.jpg 20231118_101126.jpg

The patina is really cool . I'm thinking some scotchbrite pads with "shine juice"
The bed sides and top are very straight as well as the running boards. I think it may have had a relatively easy life.

  18. Just polish it.
I’ve used CLR and a mild scuff pad to remove the rust stains.
    Then polished.
    You’d be surprised

Does it run? Get it running if not and drive as is. Maybe new tires.

It still has the banger but is missing carb / distributor and transmission. I can turn the motor with a wrench but seems tight and rough. I'll put some seafoam in the cylinders just to see what happens. Yeah , tires are 7/8ths good.....(they are only flat on the bottom , and the holes are just in the sidewall)

Very cool, congrats. I've always loved RPU's and that looks like a really great one!

Looks good a lot better than the one I bought this summer but it's cobbled together and completely apart at the moment. Looked fairly decent on the internet but have taken care of most of the problems. My avatar is a flathead powered 28 I built in the early 90's and I have a flathead powered 30 Sport Coupe. Flatheads and Model A's belong together.
