Steve... Really? As a "HAMB FRIENDLY SITE", members are supposed to be friendly toward other members when opting to make comments about their projects. His Willys has to be one of the finest builds that we have ever seen and your breaking his balls over his ****** choice? If you have any problem with any of the HAMBERS that you come across, you need to speak with our administrator, Ryan with a conversation that you can discreetly start with him. I'm sure you will be surprised to what he tells you...

 

I'm not Steve. Was a tongue in cheek comment, I've been disciplined on HAMB many times for bringing up off-topic stuff (MII front ends, asking to see other guy's home-made center consoles, etc.) Have had several discussions with Ryan on proper HAMB topics!! Prostock ****** is not the HAMB 'official' '42 Lincoln 3-speed! I wish the site was a little more liberal on adapting new tech to our beloved rusty metal treasures. I love the Willys and am waiting for it to hit the road!!

Have been told not to show my 56 with a 70 cleveland. Show the can just do not show the engine. Would be nice but it is what it is.

Are you able to keep reasonable angles on the driveshaft with the length of the box or is it not as long as it looks?

 

It's as long as it looks, the dshaft will be quite short. Angles will be spot on, my ch***is guy is very very good

 

That plus competing for room for your bod! My '36 Willys coupe runs a 4spd Hydro with a simple shift handle, no ****** tunnel, and I am really cramped for space.

Question for you and anyone else who has done extensive body panel replacement like this Willys;
How do you keep the shape of the body square and the same on both sides as you weld new panels on? I know you built a jig for this but how do you keep the shapes of the sides top to bottom to match each other without a floor? Center line and measure?
I have a 33 Ford coupe with hacked, half way done channeled floor and I am nervous that it'll be crooked and nothing will fit when I start applying panels.
Hopefully I am making sense and looking forward for any input from the craftsmen here. Thank you, Ron

 

Thanks! I was fortunate to have Lee Kay loan me the jig, otherwise Id have been in big trouble. As for no floors, we marked centerline on floor and built a temporary floor structure to hold it together til it got on frame table

 

Lee is a GOD in the Willys community.
