No, thank you Ryan! I spend more time on here than any other place on the web! Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Dave
Yep, I have a lot to be thankful for including lots of folks here. Happy Thanksgiving to my HAMB family!
Happy thanksgiving everyone. Remember when the extended family arrives, that the shop is both heated and quiet.
I’m thankful for the extended family here that was brought together by Ryan’s vision and guidance to keep it focused in the tradition of a specific era.
Hello, There were plenty of years that we went through writing our thanks in a little journal at every Thanksgiving get together of our extended family. But, with all of those thoughts on this day. Why stop there? It has been our motto or way we live to give thanks everyday for the one we see across the breakfast table and/or counter bar. From that point on, the day(s) go by too fast. It has been our way of being together that started in the spring of 1966 in a crowded college class. By the time November had come around, we were now sharing our family’s last Thursdays of November. Since there were two families, my dad wanted to have his dinner feast early on Wednesday night, so he could be uninterrupted in his Thursday all day relaxing day off. We adapted to all situations as they arrived in our lives. From hot rods to granddaughters, they all offer challenges that we learn to cope with while it lasts. Jnaki For the last several years, for me, the HAMB has given plenty of opportunity to expand friendships and history in a limited scope of the right time period in our automotive, hot rod, custom car and drag racing history. Without this time period to be highlighted, there would just be a mishmash of newer stuff that somehow lost its way in the hot rod stories and styling. Without some of the historical facts and photos, this period goes by the wayside of most folks in the “Car Culture” of today. “Without history, there is no future…” is what we were told in our high school history classes. At the time, it was one lecture and old rolling film strip presentation of historic places and artifacts. We were all going crazy as teens, but had to sit through it all. So, when it was our time to have fun and showcase our hot rods and modifications to everyone, it was our history, but we did not know it. History made us be patient and knew that one day or even after school, it would be the time to have some fun and enjoy life. Hot rods gave us a way to be creative and search for improvements in our own builds and finished cruisers. It allowed us to see a different way to live, meet new friends, and adapt to others along the way. The history for us goes back over 68 years. When we were pre-teens and in the great time of teenage explorations and actions. Drag racing, building cars and driving the daylights out of them never got old, it just changed over time. So, thanks to all that contribute to the HAMB for our detailed fact strewn stories and notes. Thanks to all of the moderators that keep us in line. And, thanks to Ryan for creating something to keep us all entertained and still growing with knowledge of the great times in “HISTORY.” Note: My high school history teacher in World History and U.S. History would be proud of what they actually presented in their antiquated format. But that was the time period. History did not change, it was just shown to us what happened and how it survives. Note2: That delicious pumpkin pie (from @BJR )made me realize that I need to start getting ready to finish several projects for holiday gifts. The standing ones are in the back. I just got some new Skylark wires to go with a custom Impala and a drag racing project that coincides with my drag racing films. Where does time fly, these days? YRMV The old, Red 1965 El Camino leads the projects with a Tahitian Red color for a new style…
Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving , wishes to all by HAMB brothers and their families . The world would be a much better place to survive , if all just gave thanks for what we have and stop crying about what we don’t have .
