HRA - either option is great - just as long as you enjoy the motor in whatever car you put it in.

The sprint car towed behind an AV8 would be a sight to behold, just as seeing this motor in your roadster would be

  4. Well, after a little over 20 years of being on the HAMB, I can finally post in the Banger monthly meet thread!

Picked this up a couple weeks ago from a clubmate in Wisconsin. My son has plans to make a speedster out of it for Old Car Festival next year.

I picked one up for my '31 from Roadster Supply. It fit the new made Stromberg 97 I have with no issues. I plan to run it facing the rear.

Only one more print, then I'll have to reprint to account for shrinkage. Has anyone experimented with "Ceramic Slurry" shell casting/Lost PLA? I'd love to get this head cast!

  10. I did investment casting years ago
Probably not the way to go now
Look for companies that do 3d core modeling
Or check with foundries that do prototype casting

Investment casting slurry would have a hell of a time getting into the water jackets reliably, not to mention the struggle to find a foundry willing to do a one off using your master. I agree that 3D sand printing is the way to go. Won’t be cheap… but it’ll be right!

    Back to the Alexander OHV
    .
Can any of you ID this rocker arm stand?
It came on my Alexander and after diligent searching I’ve come up empty
The shaft hole ID is .735”
    The bolt holes are .450”
The bolt hole spacing is 2.350”
The height from base to center of shaft is 1.525”
The base looks as if it has been cut off and surface ground.
Since the rocker arms are 34 Chevy exhaust I researched Chevy, Buick, Olds, GMC, but nothing.

Does anybody have a Serr CRAGAR and could you check his dimensions? He doesn’t answer emails, apparently.

I have made some aluminum replacements but I see no way to locate them to the head .(pin/dowel). Or will the stud and nut keep them secured?

    Thanks for any help!
    Bill

Rocker Arms Unlimited (used to be Specialties) in Red Bluff, CA. They list new rocker ***emblies for model A overheads on their website. No doubt they can fix up whatever you have too

Even if you do have to build yur own… RAU helped finish this set for my Akron-Hed by hardening and facing the tips, hone the bushings, and supplied the adjuster screws
