Well mercury really isn’t done although I’ve slowed down some.
Worked on putting a ac/heat in the car I picked up a gen2 vintage air unit that was used and so we got it mounted and started wiring controls. Ended up using a panel vintage air sells and modified it to put the controls in it. Just not crazy about how it ended up laying out in order for the vents to attach to the duct.

I also broke the heater potentiometer while we were working on it. But we got the fan to run so that was kinda cool. IMG_0669.jpeg

If your up to it make an aluminum plate and fit the parts your have to it. I put 1/4” foam and vinyl to match my interior.

VA also sell the empty plastic mounts. I’ve seen them in their catalog to move your 2 vents to the center and the controls next to you. They have individual mount for the end ones. If the potentiometer isn’t listed.. call them. IMG_3882.jpeg

you have a very slick setup there! I am going to look into possibly doing something similar.

I went down to my local electronics store and for 2 bucks, I got a 5k potentiometer and I’m in business.

While I had the dash out I decided to incorperate the vent's into the dash as if it had been done art the factory.
