Good Morning from the cultural center of the universe. Oklahoma, Yee Haa! I love cars and have owned some pretty cool ones. 1967 and 1968 vettes, and a 1988 supercharged MR2. I currently own three Mopars. I never owned a Mopar Muscle car before but in high school several of my friends did. They were considered a poor mans rod, but had a well deserved reputation of having an indestructible drive train. I bought the challenger over three years ago from a guy going through his third divorce. I bought it because the body is rock solid. I had to rebuild everything else. Some I had done, some I did. The next is a 1964 Fury. Im building this for my wife. My friend and I have done all the work on this one. Unfortunately due to a piss-poor (unbalanced) torque converter I tore the crank up and the engine is back out of the car. Once I get it back together Ill provide more detail. The last is a 1965 Satellite. I havent very much to this one I couldnt help myself. A real nice guy got into a financial jam and had to let it go ..Its got a 440 with less than 1500 miles in it, kiesler 5 speed, complete new exhaust system, and a boat load of other stuff. I basically paid for the drive train and got the car for free. Heres some before/after photos
Thanks to both of you for the welcome. I looked up your towns on the Yahoo map and we're not very close. Every Thursday night at I-40 and Choctaw there is an informal meeting of cars at the Sonic. A lot of cars that this board is about show up. I'll try and post some photos.
Welcome from Mustang. Nice Mopars. The HAMB's main focus is traditional hot rods but I love the old Mopars. You oughta build an old RAMCHARGERS clone.......I love old drag cars.
Building an old Ram Charger with either the 426 Wedge Cross Ram or the 426 Hemi Cross Ram is outside of my financial wherewithall..........muy expensive. And while they really perform in the quarter.........they're just not that street friendly.
Always good to welcome another Okie, especially one from the city area. I'm an east sider, may get around to coming out to the Sonic this week. If so, come by and say Hi to the guy in the Louie-mobile.
Operating on the ***umption that no question is dumb......I know it's a stretch. What's a Louie-mobile
