Anyone tried these on the back of their Hotrod yet? Just curious

I've used them with no problems until I could afford Firestone's. The local truck shops usually have them in stock and their cheap. Couldn't tell the difference between those and the Firestone.

You might want to wear a pair of these to cushion the ride from those tires

Hotrodpro had those on the back of a pickup once.

Google whatever size you want with the words “priority tire”.

I just bought some front bias ply tires for less than half the price of anything Coker had.

Are we concerned with the ride or are we building cool cars?

If you’re trying to match the rear revel of a fenderless car these could be for you. There are a few 5-6” wide 16” rims available some in the 50’s style for racing. One thing for sure is they aren’t radials to fly apart in 6-7 years.

Take a look at this tire Samson Rb-233 - St225/90-16 You can use a DA and sand all of the words/letters off the sidewall to make them smooth.

60#'s of air pressure for a Load Range D tire? Lower the air pressure to anything close to getting a decent ride and the sidewalls are flexing to the point of overheating and failure. $250 per tire plus more than $80 each for tubes and liners, plus shipping?

All the above except for the E Load Range and it's cheaper by $80 per tire. With this tire, you probably wouldn't even need air, the sidewalls would be so thick they would hold the weight of the car alone.

Hope your health plan has a good allowance for chiropractic care.

I only wear mine with my yoga pants

I have a friend that ran trailer tires on his roadster, I rode in it once. Once!

Those tires would ride harder than a hard tail Harley barhopper. 8 ply or 10 play ride hell for rough on a 3/4 ton pickup unless it is loaded close to it's rated tonnage.

  15. I’ve got that same tire on my 1950 3100 in the 6.50-16 size. They handle ok, I have them on all four corners. I can’t comment on the ride, because it rides like a truck. I believe mine say 60 psi on them as well, but I run 45 and they don’t seem to overheat. STA stands for Specialty Tires of America.

Thanks for the input guys. It’s kinda what I thought but always looking for different options for a 6.5” wide wheel. The Firestone 750-16 I have are on 4” wide 5 wheels and I had Wheelsmith make me pair 6.5” wide, I’m afraid the Firestone tires will look like shit with the narrow tread pattern on the wider wheels.

That tire is made for use on 2 piece wheels. That it is a tube type and uses a flap is the proof. The contour of the bead seat area of a single piece wheel is different from a 2 piece, so tires made for one don't fit properly on the other.

Years ago I ran some Michelin's of a similar diameter only they were radials. They were 235/85/R16's They worked good, didn't run real high air pressures. Had a fairly good looking tread. Lasted forever.
