I want to spend some "newer" hubcaps from a 57 Lincoln to a friend 49 Lincoln, but I don´t know if it match. Are there any problems with it to put it on? Thank you.
...After reading this a number of times......I think he wants to send some '57 Lincoln hubcaps (maybe wheelcovers?) to a friend with (I assume) stock '49 Lincoln wheels and wants to know if they will fit. Sorry, that's the best I can do.
not sure what the offset is on a 49 lincoln wheel but I will say that a 57 lincoln cap requires either a reversed wheel or to panel bond a trim ring to the back after you cut the stock tangs off
The Lincoln wheels have clinchers for the 49-51 Lincoln hubcaps on the outer rim so there is no place to install small hubcaps baby moon style. I have a set of 4 ea. 50 Lincoln hubcaps for sale in the parts section of this HAMB for $200.
Interesting how we need translators for some of the posts on here to know WTF they really want or need.
I’m think he wants to put a 57 full wheel cover on a 49 wheel. I see nothing preventing that action. I have those wheels and there’s no trick to them.
We will need more information. Not everyone knows that a hubcap and a wheel cover are two distinct things.
done a for real test fit with the items I think you are asking about I had . fit together no problem .If running a early ford rear may not clear the axel
