Just curious if anyone has seen a pan like this on a flathead ford ? 21 stud engine. Maybe it was for industrial use ?

    '33-'34 Ford stock.
Maybe later '32 as well, I'm not as familiar with '32's.

I think '32 had a cast aluminum pan.

The 32 engine is not what most people consider the 60 horse mini-flathead. It’s the same architecture as the larger/later 30’s 85 horse engines. Just a few small differences.

Not all the 32 pans were aluminum.

  6. So what year is that F-100 Panel truck in the background? Can we see more?

It would be interesting to know how many different Flathead oil pans there were from 1932 thru 1953? Just from what I've had over the years I guess the number would be staggering.

32's were 21 stud engines with a cast pan. A V8-60 was a different, physically smaller and later design.

Just off the top of my head I can think of a half dozen between 32 and 48. And I’m sure there are a couple I missed. Then you get into the Ford vs. Merc and commercials of the postwar models and there’s got to be close to a half dozen variations from 49 to 53 as well.

It always amazes me how ol Henry was so stingy, he didn't make many changes to things in order to keep costs down, yet had so many changes that seem unnecessary. Mid year changes on things starting with Model Ts that most don't even notice, mostly purists. And now a wide variety of oil pans.
