For those of you that may need hardware to rebuild your 42 - 48 Chevrolet or Pontiac Convertible folding top ***embly. For those of you that may not know, Chevy and Pontiac are virtually the same for those years.

My original hardware was chromed but over the years, the chrome had deteriorated and cosmetically, was in very poor shape. I chose stainless as a viable solution and I must say, it looks great.

I supplied samples of all hardware from my convertible top (1948 Pontiac) to Totally Stainless and they catalogued and replicated each piece for me......... My kit included all hardware with Polished stainless heads, step bolts, bronze bushings, lock washers, nuts, wave washers, screws (machine and sheet metal)visors to header, latches to header, side rails to header, hardware for all hinge points front to back, nuts and washers for weather strip retainers on side rails, etc.

It is my understanding they do not intend to stock the parts but have they have catalogued the dimensions of each piece and can make them for you............

You will have to talk to Totally Stainless for pricing and timing for manufacture.

Parts I received are excellent and I highly recommend them (and no, I do not work for them).

    Fordflambe,
I'm restoring a 48 Pontiac convertible & having trouble with the hardware for the foldable top. I've reached out to totally stainless & they have no record of your order, anything you can do to help me out?
    Thanks,

The person in the back that do***ented and machined pieces that were not "stock" items is named Bernie Pinkas. Bernie and I had several phone conversations over the time he was working on my order so he should remember me well (feel free to use my name if you like, Phil Montgomery). They can also look at my account and see what they have shipped to me and what I ordered. I have since moved from Texas to Arkansas. My address at the time of my order was 631 Sunset Trail, Angleton, Texas. Bernie's cell number is (or was at the time) 410-790-8497. Or you can call the Totally Stainless main number and just ask to talk to Bernie.

As a side note, everything they did for me was excellent!
