I cringe when I see that Taylor name, I worked at that place for a short spell outside of KC. when I was going to tech school. Finally got a job at the Midas shop at 30th and Troost

It has a fabric cover over the stainless braid. I like the look.

Now that the top is off my corvette this gap was real obvious

Pretty ugly back there. I knew there was a small upholstery panel supposed to be there. I had some .025 polycarbonate and pearl white vinyl. So a little spray glue and a snap for the front. The back is riveted to the bottom of the hatch for the rag top

    Looks a lot better

Waiting for the switches I ordered for my dash project, so I can drill the correct sized holes. As a distraction, I did a quick Triumph Bonneville tank. I Have no use for it but was tired of tripping on it in my shop. Painted it Black Sapphire & put some "original style" scallops in rainbow flake. It might make a cool table lamp.

I had to vent the gas cap so drill a hole in the screw that told the gas cap on to the gas tank

Finishing up bed wood replacement in the old stepside. And no, it's not rough-sawn. That's curly white oak grain.

20231210_112226.jpg Started setting up engine mounts for the sbf in the 32 3window, gotta figure out the short water pump set up for a 289. Also got the bed painted on my slightly off topic C10 but I won't post any pics of it:cool:

Pulled the heads off the 59A I removed from my '40 Ford. I expected a damaged piston, but I thought it would have been the one that only had 50 lbs on the last compression test...

I put used motor oil and crude oil on rough cut white oak for my 29 AA truck. It soaks in and doesn't peel. Diesel fuel is very similar. Its definitely not a show finish but I really like its utility.

Probably not, the 235 is in good condition I think. Trying not to spend money on it.

Rebuilding an engine right now, so it seems like my parts washer gets used daily for one thing or another. Sitting in one of the darker spots in the shop, I finally got around to hanging a couple 2’ lights over it that mount pretty well under the shelf above the washer. IMG_0128.jpeg

  26. In my experience a matchhead sized dollop of Never Seize will cover the part, your hands, the front of your shirt, the eyebrow you just scratched, the doorknob on your way into the house, and the faucet handle on whatever sink you choose to wash up at. Your wife will discover it on the hand towel, the toilet flush handle and your pillowcase.
That shit is like a visiting relative.... it NEVER goes away!

  27. What am i working on? Well i’ll tell ya… well maybe not it’s a little o/t. Either way, i’ve got to pull the body back off the frame then cut the frame in two to correct a little mis-alignment issue. I have found the proper measurements so this time it should go together where it should be:oops:

    Thanks 67drake
Your absolutely correct, in my younger days I was less attentive and did have a problem with it myself. I was unsure about the name you used as in my neck of the woods we called it anti-seize, you can tell as I advance in age I sometimes have a word association block and identical substance's called by different names make me go duh.
