I gotta say I absolutely love how roadsters look but I’m just not a roadster guy as far as owning one. but the coverage of this run every year? Makes me want to build one just so I could go on the run . great shots man
Joey, I have been a roadster owner for over 55 years. There is nothing to compare it to. Yes, you get wind in your face, rained on, sunburned, but it is worth it. If I still lived in North Beach, I would be helping you with your roadster just so we could enjoy them together.
Some great looking rides, but really love this Model A roadster pickup! Do you have any detail shots of it?
I made a similar promise. I went on 2 maybe 3 runs with my little truck and I had to have a roadster. For 1 you feel lame after being around that core group of individuals ( even though they don’t care). I found my roadster in the back of a shed that was Johnny nitros ( great blues musician that used to play every eeek at the oldest bar in SF) after he passed. Dave red beard sold me the rails and a pile of parts and in about 2 years and one really long night with Tim Keeney, Brandon, and Aaron helping me wire and fire the dream came true. My wife ( then girlfriend) reminds me constantly of all the crazy late nights I’d spend the day/night before runs making sure everything was ready or making that one last change that takes way longer than it should. So stay true to your promise I’ll try and get my next one done and come visit as well
I have a condition in my left eye known as "Pterygium" or known in slang term as "surfer's eye". A growth that starts on the clear tissue of the eye that can spread to the cornea. Excessive exposure to the ultraviolet radiation in sunlight is thought to be the cause. Dusty or sandy environments – long-term exposure in dry and windy locations is thought to contribute to the development of the condition. I'm a roadster owner and bike rider, just wear adequate eye protection (I always wore sunglasses) or you too may get one of these.
