Registration has closed, but that doesn’t mean you can’t go. The reliability run is open to all. It’s just about the best part. You don’t have to be registered to attend the awesome street parties. Make plans.
They posted on their website and certain social media platforms, probably not here. Opened up last week or so, already met their limit to park on the grass at the show. There’s a great big parking lot though.
Yeah it’s gonna be killer show, 5th year they are promoting it as kind of the family reunion. They pre registered 500 cars in 9 days I believe. like he said though tons of people drive there un registered hot rods to the party’s parking lots and the reliability run. I wouldn’t be surprised if you could count over a hundred cars at the hotel that aren’t in the show, to be truthful I might guess twice that many. Regaurdless of wether you made the cut for the show drive your hot rod to Oklahoma, do ALL the things and have the best couple days a person could have in October
Well, I guess that answers whether I need to register or not. I’ll be there anyway but I guess this will be my first year to not be registered.
Just got the Tudor "finished" last week. Should have all the bugs out by then. Will drive again from Ca.
Didn't try to register. To much money for a t shirt. Parking on the street close to headquarters is free. After registering for 3 years and realizing nobody looks at what I drive I'll be happy to park with the civilians and just cruise the show on my scooter. I did manage to get a room. $500 for 3 nights. Since it was one of the few left I'll probably need to bring my own mouse traps and roach spray but I can stand anything for 3 nights. I did notice that according to Priceline the Fairfield Inn we stayed at last year was if I remember right is charging a little over $1500 for 3 nights, a substantial increase over last year. They still had a few rooms left. Free enterprise is great.
Signed up for the first time and a bunch of PNW will be going as well. Looking forward to checking it out. ironandsteele.com
I'm going to be there registered or not . In my opinion the best hot rod and custom show in the country, I know that's saying alot but once you've been there you'll se what I'm saying. Also there's plenty of fellow hot rodders and parties at the host hotel to take in. Can't wait until Oct. 2024
Blessed to have the Roc in our back yard. The spectator parking lot is a show in itself. The spectator parking is very close to the show and it feels like you are part of it. The Kats talked about giving an award away to the koolest car parked in the spectator parking lot. Lol! I dropped by Fairfield Inn this morning and they have a great show rate. (No where near the $500 a night) We use them for the host hotel during the Stray Kat 500 and they go out of their way to take are of us. It is not close to the Hilton but is a great place to stay.
The reliability run and hotel parking lot shenanigans are free and the best part of the weekend. JUST GO! We're moving to Oklahoma this summer so I'll be there, at the "Gathering in the Lot"
I like that “… in the lot”. We need T-shirts. I’m not much of an artist, but I could probably have some printed.
Yeah honestly I took my daily the first year and probably had close to the same amount of fun as when I drove the 46. Cool to hear your moving north Dan! Come up for Pete and Jakes 50th this spring it’s gonna be a big one!
I am really hoping to make this one in 24, even if it is just to drive in and visit on Friday. Add me to the "Gatherin at the Lot" T-Shirt list if that becomes a thing. Fat Boy size!
StrayKat; Followed up after reading your post. Contacted the Fairfield direct and the desk clerk said that they had a rate for customers attending the ROC. I told her what I'd found on line and said I had stayed there last year, she had all my information and for 3 nights the total came to $338.00 Pays to do a little research. These booking companies may be doing a little gouging? Glad I got that cleared up.
I got screwed around using booking companies too many times. Now I always deal with the hotel directly. Glad you got it worked out. Look forward to seeing you.
We are making this trip with a few friends to spectate. Will be in town sometime Friday Morning through sometime Saturday evening. Cannot wait!
I have heard rumour that Jimmy Hervatin is going to be debuting his finished Weesner Lit Up painting inspired Ford truck.
It looks like I will have this pile there. Hope to see some old friends and meet some new ones. If you see me with the car there, come introduce yourself. It would be good to meet some of you that I've been communicating with here on the HAMB for the last 20+ years
