Folks Of Interest Lost another good one today GMC BUBBA :-(

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by tierod, Dec 11, 2023.

  1. With heavy heart, I have to announce the passing of a friend and fellow Hotrodder Jim "Bubba" Linder...GMC BUBBA here on the HAMB...
Bubba has been a big influence and mentor in my life, as he was to many many people over the years... One of the best Ignition\Distributor people out there. Compassionate, funny, generous and at times, instigator. He frequently used and taught "Bubba Logic".... Could fix any Model T you could find...
What can I say...He will be missed.....

My least favorite threads on the HAMB are those dealing with the loss of one of our own. My condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Jim was a wonderful advocate for the hobby. He helped me a lot when I was just getting into classic cars. He was a great influence on not only me, but a great number of folks in the local car community. Some of the best times I've ever had were at the Bubbas Wednesday Night weekly event he hosted for about 10 years. He will be missed, no doubt. God Speed Jim....

Never spoke with Bubba but from all that I’ve read I sure wish I had. I really don’t like to hear of experts in this hobby passing. Condolences to his family. I do have one of the last distributors he built going into my ‘49 Merc which will reside in my ‘32 so every time I start that engine I’ll think of Bubba...

Only met him once… parked my car there during the 500 one year. Had some SPAM. He must have a million friends who’ll miss him dearly.

  28. Always a big loss when it's someone who seemed to share so generously. :(

Bubba, serving it up at the 2008 Indy Road Rockets' Rumble. :D
