Some more of my bikes. Very quick HRD 1000 with a lot homemade goodies: spine frame, tank, carbs, clutch and lots of engine internals to make it GO. Then the next 1948 HRD 1000 - almost original - not as quick but a nice tourer. And the blue Norton 750, handmade everything to safe weight, highly tuned engine - lots of fun but risking the driving licence every time I ride it...
Hello, Anything for competition against Harleys in the show. During set up days, the early entrants to the main hall were setting up their displays for the show to start the following day. The competition was fierce as die-hard Triumph Motorcycle owner/builders were trying their best to get the trophy against a the majority of custom bikes from the fierce, Harley owners. Chrome? Yes definitely, but everyone has chrome. So, a step beyond with brass plating of various parts to make them stand out. The springer front forks were not the common place item, especially on a Triumph, but this one stood out well. It was a combination of chrome and specific parts being brass plated. Jnaki If I were a judge, the coffin gas tank is out of place. A custom made tank gets more points than a commercially offered coffin tank, even if the paint is pretty good to highlight the custom Triumph. The color was the popular combination of dark purple and orange, that was just starting to take off on many motorcycle styles. YRMV
