  3. Well damn!! That is so cool and some, what a credit to you to reach this stage with all life's setbacks along the way. Great to see you have entered the Dust Up too, just 3 1/2 weeks away now and looking forward to that HAMB get together. See you soon. JW

Great looking T! Very cool Chevy 4! I just found this thread yesterday and went through it all. Looks like I have a couple more years before anyone here can call me a slacker for dragging my build out. It is really nice to see someone stick it out to the end, or near the end.
It is good the see a build evolve as new Ideas & pieces show up. Also, in my case at least, the longer you take the more the cost is spread out.
In one of the shots on the lawn there is a big pile of lumber. One might think you were building a Chevy roadster. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks Six Ball. Yes 10 years is generally unacceptable for a build esp as you get older and the number of builds you have left in you diminishes. I did however manage to restore another car during that period and yes the roadster did evolve somewhat during the build. The timber on the lawn was for an upstairs library build but coincidentally I did restore a 1926 Chev roadster in the 1990s including replacing all the woodwork (never again). The all steel T roadster is a pleasure to work with. My homage to the chev apart from the running gear is wooden t&g floors in boot and cockpit.

It's perfect, as far as I'm concerned. I also can't wait to hear about the Dust Up. Best of luck to you.

Kume, Did you keep any information about the '26 Chevy roadster build? That is what I'm doing now and there doesn't seem to be any plans, drawings, or specs for the wood in the open cars. Grumpy Gabby 2 and I are trying to recreate some plans. Any thing you have or remember would be appreciated. I know you have posted on my build thread (everything in the world thread) but you didn't mention your Chevy wood working adventure.

    Hi Six Ball
The 1990s were pre interweb for me so no raft of digital photos or day by day Youtube videos of the woodwork build. Maybe a few trad photos taken on film lying around. Will see what I can find and post it on your thread.

  14. Kume, congratulations- your gow looks fantastic!!! Please remind me- who's wire wheels/what size are those?

    Thanks Mac
They are 19 inch knock off wheels from a 1934 Riley Kestrel (English Riley - see pic attached). Probably quite rare in the USA but quite plentiful down here and in the UK. I have slightly wider rims at the back with 500 x 19 Excelsior's and 450 x 19 on the front.

Kume, Thank you that would be a very welcome addition to the thread. Whenever you run across anything we would appreciate it. Tom

Man I wish those wheels were plentiful here!

Very cool build, love the drivetrain. All the pieces came together really nice, if I was told this was an untouched surviving original pre-war build I'd have no reason not to believe it.

Being a newbie I am a little intimidated by the horse power of the other entries. I think there is only one other 4 banger turning up :(

Look back at what the Chevy 4 in the S&G roadster did. And anyway it is about enjoying what you built. Pretty sure you can pull that off!

  22. I'm not sure how the racing is done but you could race me as i'm a bit concerned with going too hard and breaking something. Have you got a neck brace? JW

2 cars on the track at one time, starting opposite each other an "race" ends after one catches the other or 4 laps have gone by.
Usually as the day gets on , you can pick who you want to race against, an you only have too drive to your own comfort level !!
I will be there, racing my 6cyl dodge modified !
    See you there !
