Hello, Here is the rear of the fabulous Dodge Truck. It was well built and the color was outstanding, highlighted by the pre-noon day sun. Most old trucks look pretty much the same from the back. A nice pickup bed, some smooth fenders and a good looking, chrome bumper. At first glance down a long driveway, this Dodge Pickup Truck looked like a Ford. (yes, I need glasses) But, as I zoomed in with my digital camera’s 20x power, it became obvious. A full modified and custom Dodge Pickup Truck used as a daily driver. What luck for the digital camera and future files of old So Cal hot rods. Jnaki The color, to me, was a Root Beer Brown with some nice contrasting Black fenders. It was my first sighting and photos of an old Dodge Truck and it was a nice one to boot. You meet the nicest surprises down a long alley way… with a clear telephoto lens... It would be a hard choice to decide on which one of these trucks to get for our own purposes. They are very similar in design and function. They are both great looking builds. Dodge versus Ford... Having owned two 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery hot rods for 5 + years, at a ten year different era, it is hard to say no to a 1940 Ford, anything. But, after seeing how the little differences make a design, perhaps the Dodge truck takes this race…or the classic 1940 Ford design we have all come to love in any model or style. It all depends on what style a person or couple would enjoy or like, in the design. The lowered rake is evident in both, the quality is also evident. So, it comes down to a few choices for ownership. A Dodge or a Ford truck? It could be as simple as “I like Fords and that is it…” Or a cool root beer paint on the Dodge pushes the choice, (with a nice blending of two colors) and takes the cake… YRMV
Hello, I believe it is a 1939-40 Dodge Truck. Similarities exist in those years. I was told that there was a nice looking truck normally seen in this area where I had just dropped off my wife for a visit to a friend's house. So, I found the truck. It was a few years ago. The color was for me, a root beer brown with black fenders. It was the detailing that made it look great. Not necessarily a Ford or Chevy truck that we see all of the time. At it's price it is a bit spendy for a project car but how about a 37 Desoto tail dragger coupe? On FB marketplace In Lymdon Wa. Out of my price range and I have too many projects now but this could be a fun one.
Our of my price range too..But I've seen it in person up close and it's an extremely solid & complete car ! I bought my avatar from the same place.. 48 Club Coupe. And just got a 78 Dodge ramptruck from him yesterday. There's a rumor going around he wants stuff gone.. Putting the property on the market next month So... He Might be willing to haggle/take reasonable offers . LYNDEN Washington. (I think He also has a decent black 50 ' Business Coupe for sale too with lots of extra parts)
