Nope - can't do it. That one car / truck. ( you didn't include a truck option) I like so many different ones for so many different reasons...... I have 6 now all different styles and ERA's; 1 Buick 1 Chevrolet 2 Fords 2 Mercury's See.... ( I'm catching up to @Moriarity ) although he's mostly (1 Ford) and the rest just a Chevy guy.)
32 Status by charleyw posted Dec 22, 2021 at 6:47 PM Mines in the garage but in pieces, I've always wanted one but it was always out of reach. Sold one of those plastic GM cars and invested heavily in lots of parts. It occurred to me one day that there was not one Ford part of any kind, much less authentic '32. At 74 I'm okay with that just don't tell anyone.
Could have had this a few years back for a little over 6k. Today it would be 16k. I still think about it.
I agree with you 100%! But, I have always put family 1st,, I give up alot to make sure Thier needs was met.. looking back,, I gave up when I didn't have to. I lost jobs due to corporate greed! Lost income due to personal greed,, I work through all of it,,,but I had to put my dreams on hold for a while..now I am getting to where I can work on my dreams/ wants/ projects.. Good advice, but for me it seemed everytime I found a car,, half the stuff in the house would break! My g***er's maiden voyage has been put off for probably a couple more years. Since Dec. I've had replace my HVAC system in my house, forced to buy a new daily driver, dish washer, fridge, now having to repair the septic system. Gotta live before I play! Things have gotten a little better since the kids moved out..
I have always found the concept of "one car only" to be a bit communist, but I will try, to pick one, tho there are actually seven that excite me. I have loved Fiat Topolinos altered since the 70s. About 20 years back I bought a Topo project and my wife loved it. So for the Christmas before our 20th Anniversary, I gave her the car, figuring she would give it back to me the following month on our anniversary. Well she still has it and I got a fibregl*** mold done off it incase I get a chance to build a Topo. My Inspirations (first drag car into the 10s in New Zealand) And WOTZAT is my wifes Topolino.
I already have it.....If I can just put it back together from the frame off / blast / rotisserie / drivetrain swap / paint / wiring / interior.
Graduated high school in 1971, one friend had a 66 mustang, one had a 67 mustang. I spent too many hours working on both, so naturally I lusted for a first gen camaro. Never got one, the price went up faster than my income, but I am happy working on my 50 chevy truck.
A Kaiser Henry J would be sweet. Mild Rod, no dragster/g***er stuff. Or a Ford farmtruck. A parts hauler and daily driver, not a show truck. Lots of OT dream cars too...
My taste in cars vary but a ‘32 Ford Roadster would be my overall preference that I could possibly afford to build. I’ve always wanted one since I can remember. But a supercharged Duesenburg (sp?) or Tucker would be the ultimate car in my garage if I had stupid money to throw around
when we were kids my buddies and I knew where all the cool cars were within riding distance on our Stingrays. there was a '50 Olds coupe. faded (candy?) red, louvered hood, shaved hood and trunk, rusty chrome wheels and pinner whitewalls, had a nice California rake. the icing on the cake was a full on genuine tuck and roll interior in red and white. all worn out and very old, this was like 1974. a bet it was an old show car. I was 15 in 1975 when it was in the paper for sale for like $600.00 I'd like to go back and be a year older and buy it. I'd still have it. inside the garage was a yellow full fendered 32 roadster in the same kind of condition, pretty sure it had an Olds motor, could have been a Caddy or maybe Pontiac.... an old show car as well.
As I have gotten a little older, , I have kinda lost that "I want one of each" mentality....However I still have many on my bucket list. I could not pick just one yet! Over the last 6 years or so I crossed 3 off the list & before I die I would like to get the other 4 or 5 on the list. My 2 favorite “ Late Model “ body styles are the 65 Mustang fastback and the late model Corvair. I got the Corvair, now with a V8 back seat engine but I have yet to ever own any Mustang…
I wanted an old Austin or Anglia sedan to build a g***er, and found mine back in 2010. Then wanted a '39 Chev coupe and found mine in 2019 at a swap meet. But the other always wanted car has been a '33 Willys coupe to build another g***er on. But I know that's going to never happen as they're all crazy priced for real steel bodies, and that's what I want.
35-36 Ford Roadster. This 36 at Deuce Days 2022 was sweet but I like the 35 grille better better. I'm under no illusion I'll ever own one.
I have pretty much been able to come up with every car I ever wanted except for a 32 Ford 3 window coupe. That one has always eluded me. Every time I find one they either won't sell it or want way more than I could afford. I have a 5 window so I can't complain, I just always like the 3 window a little better. But now there are so many of them made of plastic that they have lost much of their appeal. Now early Corvettes are something I desire. I have had 2 and sold them. Prices are crazy for them now, they are not worth what people ask for them in my opinion.
Put me down for the’49-‘50 Olds coupe too…. I had the perfect one in my shop for headers. Original black paint, beautiful old black and white tuck n roll. Chrome window frames. Perfect stance and tire to fender fit. Unfortunately, a later 455/TH400 (I’d rather have a 394/Hydro) but I coulda lived with that. Not for sale. I kept in touch for a long time and eventually lost contact. I wonder where it went.
