    Game plan:
    Finish the truck.
Do a smokey burn out in front of the Ex's house while giving the one finger salute.
    Smile all the way home.

  2. It sure is great to hear from you Brother! This place has gotten kinda quiet without you!

Glad you're making good progress, Lloyd. Concentrate on stuff that makes you happy, and don't give the bad shit anymore time than necessary.
Someone told me that about 20 years ago, and I've always tried to remember it.
    Simple, hell yeah.
1940 was a good year for Fords, and houses. Mine is a 1942 model, solid as a rock.

Glad to hear from you Mutt! Sounds like you are a positive roll. Need to visit a buddy in Paintsville this spring. Might have to drive over and drive down your property value.

Well there's a little bad news, looks like the home for Lloydfest is shutting down. But don't worry, I'll come up with an alternative IMG_8430.jpg

  9. I've always said that change is the only constant, but don't ask for change. It just makes you a panhandler.

  15. Another reason it sucks, is the concession stand at I-64 was great, and very reasonable.

Yeah; and hold the rest of the event in the field across the road from the store in Preston. Make Preston into the hot rod equivalent of what Sturgis is to bikes.

  18. Well that sucks

Flat land, in KY? It was only an 1/8th mile track because that was all the land in the entire eastern 3/4 of KY they could find to put a straight level drag strip on. :D Well, almost joking... :p Hmmm. That frontage road in front of the school parking lot might work, I'm sure that would be easy to arrange.

Maybe a hill climb event would be fun?

The strip was a nice location and a great distraction, the conversations all paused when ever cars made a run. I left before the racing was over at night, I didn't want to drive those roads in the dark. Our lodging was only 20 miles away, but an hour driving time, in daylight, because of the hills and curves.

Lloyd, don't let it get to you. If its meant to be, something will turn up. The drag strip only showed up a couple months before the event last year.

Hell I'm nowhere near Salt lick or Preston now, it's not a horrible distance, but my shop is in Jeffersonville, right outside of Camargo Kentucky. There's a huge field to the left and behind my shop. I'll have to ask my landlord if he owns it, and we might just have the shindig there. I'll check into it. Then we can sit inside the shop all night and party, in the heat lmao!

Bummer that the 64 Motorplex is shutting down, but that was actually a really nice "Eulogy" that the Baldridges posted for it.

    Lloyd,

Wherever it is Sherry and I will be there. It's an honor to have participated in the first Lloydfest and we have memories that will last us for the rest of our lives.

  27. Atch, I couldn’t have said better myself! I completely agree and Tonya and I are counting the days until Lloydfest 2024 when we bring Little Truckdoctor.

Had to do a search to see where Jeffersonville KY is. South east of Mt Sterling a few miles. Less hotel options (and they are farther away) then last year.

Going to watch what happens for sure.
