Struggling like everyone else to find steel fenders for my 1939 Ford 1/2 ton. Original or repro, just not fiberglass. I still need a good right rear fender. Any recommendations?
Probably not much help really but keep an eye out for old pickup box trailers in driveways and backyards. Buddy of mine found some for his that way, weren't great but was able to make useable fenders out of those and what he already had.
why not fiberglass, with undercoating, WESCOTTS only, DON'T LET THAT HOLD UP YER PROJECT.. No one knows the difference but you, Use it until you find the original you want, (30 YEAR WESCOTT DEALER ,) JMO
If the 39 rear fenders are the same as the 40/41 fenders then good ones for sale are as scarce as hen's teeth. I saw a decent 40 right rear ( the most difficult one to find) for sale a few years back for $1200. Ouch. The good news is the 42-47 truck fenders are the same as the 40/41 except at the front where they meet the running boards. You used to be able to buy that piece as a patch panel but a good metalworker can reshape it to the correct proportions. Good luck in your hunt.
You can still buy the patch panel. Measure twice, cut once Turns a late 40's fender into an early one.
