never mounted, still on the plaque... i have a chance at one and its gonna BREAK me to sell it, ALWAYS wanted one, and i feel like i GOTTA get it.. and no, i probably wont ever run it what do you guys think its worth??? this would make my dad and i smile til our graves!
i have a friend who got one from him as a gift. as far as price i have never heard of anyone selling one....probably big$$ though. _T
the HAMB auction knob... one of a kind went for over $2000 here, didn't it? SOMEONE just bought a new know right from Norm at the drags... I don't remember who...
no pics to share, its a wood colored one, not the normal bone colored ones, its like my FREAKIN DREAM!!! i would LOVE to ask norm, just dont have his number in my cell phone, and cant find a site online that sells em for sH*t! im not really tryin to see what i could sell it for, i would NEVER sell it, i wanna put it on display at my old mans house for now, it will be the only nice thing i own, and will be GREAT to give to grandkids one day!
I saw one go on the bay for like 1500 once and i have only ever seen two for sale.Like you man I would give a testicle to have one Norm makes the greatest shit.
regular skull shifter knobs now sell for 750.00 and up from norm. most used ones sale for 450.00 to 1000.00 depends on the style and when it was made. table or desk models (skulls on a base) sell around 1000.00 to 2500.00 again depending on style and when it was made. norm numbered the first 100 desk models made so they are some of the hardest to find. if the one you are looking at is a desk model better leave it on the base!
If he just sold a couple a month, that's a heck of a supplemental retirement income. I wonder how long it takes him to make them though. That would ain't cheap either.
...the new ones being the new smaller ones. They're half the size of the old ones...about 4 inches tall...fit your hand better. This is the one I bought from Norm at the drags...
I paid $600 for this one a few years back when Norm was at the Turkey Run in Daytona. At that time, he had three sizes with him. Small was $400, medium was $600, and large was $800. The medium one I got is about 6.6" tall. I went without food for the rest of the trip.
A guy I know got this one a while back. He paid good money right to Norm for it. I am sure he is going to read this post too. He he he he he
Gallon of gas $3.99 Coker Bias Ply $125.00 Norms Knob......... Priceless Come on dude. How can you put a price on something that cool. That ain't a shift knob it's a piece of art. It should be treasured.
Here is my Normie KNOB(I can't believe I said that! ) This was done for me waaaay back in 91 or 92.....It was a prototype for a Lokar shifter....Norm said he never did one before and this was the first. Not a fancy one...but I dig it it....ALOT!!!!! FTB......I have more pics for you Normie poo's work is PRICELESS
Here's mine I got from him about '96 or '97. I paid about $450, I think. He was selling his skull mugs for about $750 at the time....shoulda got one of those too, when they were "cheap"....LOL. I'm an orthodontist, so Norm wanted me to make up a set of braces on posts so he could put them on the teeth. Sadly, never got the car ready to to mount the knob in, but finally have it in the works now...woohooo! Can't wait to have this thing looking thorugh the windshield of my Fleetline. The skull has been on my desk ever since I got it and it really scares the kids when I tell them if they don't wear their rubber bands they'll be in braces until they look like this...and I hold up the skull. Maybe I shoulda written it off as a business expense.....LOL.
It's worth whatever you think it's worth. I had Norm make mine personally for the car so mine is priceless and when he calls your house it really makes your day.
Love these old threads that pop up in my searches , and I always like to post a pic of my current collection just for future search reference . I’d say the value of these has certainly gone way up since the previously most current post in this thread in 2006
