Finally got around to doing the head gasket and a new winch! The Cummins head was definitely warped and the machine shop took a quite a bit off the head to get it flat again. Picked up some arp head studs too! While I was in there I advanced the timing on the fuel pump and holy cow it woke this thing up! Off throttle response and turbo spool is amazing now! It runs cooler and more consistent but I may still need a larger custom radiator.

Also replaced the Warn 12k winch with a Zeke 10k that has a wireless remote! Total game changer for putting cars on the bed! Hauled my son's 79 trans am and it loaded effortlessly between the winch and the ability to steer and walk around it with the remote control. The new winch is much faster too!
In non-exciting news I finally added a giant front sway bar that was originally from the f550 that the axles came from. That made a world of difference so the cab doesn't wallow in the corners. Also added the factory f550 panhard bar and also discovered my tie rod end was super worn out so between all those things the steering and handling is much better!

It still gets used as a portable serving table and bar for bonfire party's. Headache rack and some in cab improvements are next!

Just read this whole thread...Nice job on the build. Question? What is the red/white cab sitting in front of the shop/ Dodge coe? I had a chance to buy one once and did not jump soon enough....

It's an REO. Not sure what year but my guess is mid 60's? It's a fiberglass cab pretty beat up. I'm thinking of making it into a bar. The steering wheel says "Made by DIAMOND T".

    Same cab used by International.

That sure looks like it. There is no evidence of it saying 'International' anywhere. My understanding is that style cab was made for several companies. Any idea what year that one is?

  9. I know it was probably mid sixty's. There were a few makes that shared mid sized cabovers.

My favorite tow yet! 55 Olds 88 4 door hardtop that has been in a buddy's family since 1957! Only 51k original miles. The interior is absolutely mint. Has a couple rust holes in the fenders and on a headlight brow but the floors are totally perfect! Drivetrain is a bone stock 324 Rocket. I'm helping him get it running again and sell it... But I also may buy it from him. I kinda love the originality of it and when the windows are down it's downright sexy! It's been sitting for years but supposedly it's a runner.
