Hello, I'm trying to nail down a production date on this Fenton manifold I'm planning on picking up tomorrow. I know these things are pretty common, but I'm having a hell of a time figuring out when, exactly, this style was produced. I'm hoping pre-'53; I think this predates the rebranded Sharp 2x2s Fenton sold later. I did a search and found nothing - apologies if this has been covered and I overlooked it.
You probably found the same flatspot piece that I did. I'm going to say that either you like it or you don't. I know that Edmonds was always changing the script on his intakes and heads but I don't think Fenton did.
Yup, same article I found. Kind of wild that these intakes were apparently so ubiquitous yet there's so little concrete info about them! Thank you so much! I appreciate that a lot!
Haven't found my 1953 catalog yet, but here it is in the '56. As you can see, the '56 catalog shows both your intake and the Sharp style intake.
Years ago, I pawed through all of my old car magazines looking for ads for Chevrolet/GMC speed equipment, and the earliest ad I found for Fenton headers was in a magazine from September 1952.
Thanks HEATHEN! Very cool info in that catalog page you posted. Mine looks like it might have been polished at some point - it's very smooth. Should polish up again nicely. Just have to be careful about pulling out these old studs. Let me know if you find that '53 catalog. Here's another photo I took this evening.
