Hey if you get a problem with the page, check back, for some reason the server went down. Geez, in business for One freaking day and this happens!!!!!!!
She started out with a limited-run cast-resin kit from a company in Italy that has about fifty parts or so, and then she started sanding, drilling, pinning and modifying it into what you saw in my post. The long braid replaced a short cast resin one, and is made from doll hair, finely braided around a piece of armature wire. She tipped th ebraid with what looks like a big steel spike, but that was made by dipping the end of the braid repeatedly in several different plastics/resins and then coating it with, of all things, chrome fingernail enamel. All the rest of the paint is basic craft acrylics and pastel powders covered in several coats of flat clear before the detail painting and final assembly took place. If you think this is cool, you should see her leatherwork.
[ QUOTE ] Well, I don't see one yet, so here goes, one from the archives.....I had a chance to be on this local radio show to promote this band I was in (it was a joke really.) Anyway, the screener and I get to talking and she gets interested in the whole painting thing and asks if I'll paint up something for the hosts. Sure, why not. Long story short, the hosts were fired and the show was cancelled shortly after that. Funny shit..... [/ QUOTE ] funny!! i see you did this for Ron and Don. they are on the radio in Grand Rapids Michigan in the mornings now. i've heard em a couple times but since i don't live out that way anymore i don't get over there much. Wow! A great Friday Art show. Lots and lots of talent, here. Gowjobs: Your wife is very talented. That sculpture is amazing. Oh, I never told you what a great modeler I think you are. Brush: Very kool illustration, as usual!!!! Senoir Gordon: Yer coming on strong with your striping. Whodaky: I Likey! Lotsaparts: Very nice! I'm just posting a single pic of someone elses work. I still don't have any of my own in digital form yet. That will change next week. This is a pic of a rear fender of a Peterbilt showtruck. It's from last months Chicago WoW. A big tanker outfit called Altom has a fleet of kickass trucks. All decked out and fully striped Old School style. The artist is Greg Widman. He's probably Chicago's last fulltime pinstriper. It's his main business, some others are commercial signmakers or designers. We competed all thru the 70's and early 80's till I dropped out to chase a regular paycheck and benefits. Anyways, he's a very talented guy and we're friends. I thought I would show something different. I am also throwing in a pic of a bunch of McPhail Shift Knobs offered for sale by Richards Stuff, also vending at McCormick Place. What a operation that is! Enjoy. Joel
I knew I forgot something. 1lowdelivery: Very nice Gasser. I like the fact you sanded the tires for more realism. I do too. Hellfish: Great panel, I'm jealous. Delaware George: Your rocking, Man! very nice. Barnett: Your da Man! nice stuff. Hamilton: Last but not least, I love your art. Very prolific. Later, Joel

i found this guy on metalshapers.org, and it has bugger-all to do with cars, but there is a lot of metalwork involved, so it's not as OT as it could be... anyway, check this guy's stuff out, it's mindblowing... robotic sculptures
