I have looked through the faq stickies but did not see anything on 1965 mustang seats being used in 1953 customline. Has anyone done this? If you have do you have any pictures? Thanks Ezrodder1

This link may help https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/shoebox-seats.1256494/ When I put Mustang buckets in my '54 you will probably want to use about a 2" or 3'' spacer to set right, also reinforce the floor boards where you mount the seat belts, make sure you have a solid no rust floor.

Jeff thanks for the link and the feed back on your install! That is very helpful. Did you mount them in a slight angle front to back?

No, just made sure they were level and at the right height you want to be sure you allow for the front and rear adjustment before you drill mounting holes.

These aren't Mustang buckets but, you can put any bucket seat in your '53. Set the seats in your car and use blocks of wood to get the angle and seat height set. Then make up your steel brackets. I used 1" square tubing covered with sheetmetal. Not even sure if I'm gonna use these Prius buckets but they look good and they're comfortable. For the price, I had to give it a shot........

Good info and nice looking seats. If I didn’t already have the mustang seats I would have looked for those in the parts yard. Thank you

Got the newer mustang buckets installed in my '55. My brother picked them up free from a guy putting in racing seats.
