I know you are looking for early history, not late, but Ron Boren didn’t have a Hemi in it.
He bought it from Walt and Frank Sandoval and put a 254 inch Dodge in it that “just clicked” as he would say…

Tell me more. Ron Boren’s place burned down, in one of the burned sheds there was a 354 industrial with a melted adapter…. Well, the whole motor is melted. It was pointed out to me that it was from the car. Thank you! You are the only one who could connect Ron to this car. I appreciate it!

@alchemy you can see the belt line around the wheel well, sorry the photo is so pixelated. On the very top of the radius you can see a couple chips in the paint. The body has never been off the frame not have any body panels been replaced. Everything is EXACTLY the same. Wish bone brackets, roll bar, steering holes still visible. Nothing has changed other than a few motors and some paint jobs. Even the tall home made motor stands in the front cross member when they went from a 21 stud to a 24 stud flathead are still there. They are visible in all photos, clear back to the Dean and Buzz Moon days. Look close at the primers photos, only parts are in primer while repairs are being done, it’s still got its yellow paint in places. I believe Cerny was probably doing body work the right way. The work done prior was done by Buzz Moon in his father’s driveway in the late 40s.

@House13 tell me more about the 254 inch dodge. I sent you a message with my phone number. Give me a call when you have a few minutes.

The burnt engine was the engine to the car, but Ron had said multiple times it was a “two hundred and fifty four inch Dodge”. Maybe it was a 354 and he was just remembering it wrong… It sat outside under that tree for 62 years…

    Hello,

The color was worth going back and running the old film I took over again.

The color was white. But as the Altered Sedan goes by the different colors of the orange timing tower and grassy areas, it becomes a flash of yellow.

So, the photo of “all of the paint splashes” is probably the answer.

Any new information or photos of the current state of affairs? Thank you for the great old photos… YRMV

This is the roots of why the hamb came to be. Missed this thread as I was away many times due to no interest in modern trends

This has to be the best car and stories and history that I've ever seen on here.
I'm not really a race guy or Bonneville guy or even a 2 door sedan 32 guy, but it's a rare treat to see everyone adding history and pictures from so very long ago, and hearing about it sitting outside since 62 but survived. The poster talking about the burned engine, etc. ...you guys rock.

I was born in 51 so it was already built then, maybe it's a memory of the Orange Crate from my model kit youth, and that 32 sedan also managed to survive.

Such an awesome car with so much history,
I don't understand why this post isn't staying on page one.
So I'm giving it a bump.

MsPearl, have you connected the dots that this is the same car a young Dean Moon owned and chopped?
I'd love to see more photos of its current state.

Here is the most recent picture of it. I appreciate the interest and keeping this thread on the top. There SHOULD be a LOT of pictures of The Outcast from 46-59.
