Does anyone know where you can buy a tapered steering shaft? I have a 1932 column I'm using with a Vega box and a 1937 steering wheel. Thanks!
I think I still have a few left from when I was manufacturing steering columns. Mine are 33 inches long with the keyed and tapered top which duplicates the Ford top and 3/4 36 spline bottom. Used them in both my 39 banjo column and my 40 column. The length was just right for the model A thru 34 cars.
I bought a replacement shaft from Weedeter. He has three different lengths, tapered on the top and 3/4” DD on the bottom. Dale is @Weedburner 40 in here.
If not the whole shaft how about a male / female 3/4 36 spline taper x 3/4" coupler (female) stub shaft to enable a steering wheel swap? Clear??!!
To clarify my above post: The adapter shaft would only about 4 - 6" long (if that helps). If I am hijacking this thread please omit.
