I did a 64 Merc convertible a few years ago and they were gold from the factory. I used VHT gold, looked very close to factory.
Just painted the tunnel ram for my 31 tudor Friday. Next I'll pull the motor and paint to match and install the tunnel ram. Vht burnt copper, although many call it gold...
My Shoebox’s 276 H&H Flatty. Baron Heads, Thickstun bits, Navarro intake, Schneider cam. Ditched the Mallory for a Bubba unit years ago. The Malp***i got replaced and the fuel line cleaned up. Worm clamps got replaced w/safety wired vintage Whittock tower clamps. Cable laced cloth wiring, etc. Iron Lords Forever/Forever Iron Lords
I don’t have an engine, but I do own a gold painted 4 bbl intake for a ‘ 56 265. Not likely to ever use it, the carburetor is too pricey for me.
Unfortunately, the new owner pulled this beauty and installed a SBC. But, the nailhead I'm working on will get the same gold color as my old 6 banger.
Sorry, I missed this. I started with Restoration Shops Anniversary Gold. But it has too much yellow in it and clashed with the Royal Maroon body color of my roadster, so I started adding drops of their Royal Maroon until it softened the yellow. Bill
