Does anybody know if it will work? I guess the overall track width plus the location of the spring pads would tell me enough to figure it out. I'm asking for my Pops that's kicking around making a nose up straight axle pseudo-gasser.

if a 57 is anything like a 50 it has a factory drop of about 6 inches so that would require a REALLY tall spring.

here's what you do. measure all your widths and such to be sure that all works. you got one in a truck to measure off of? good, measure from the bottom of the frame to the top of the axle, then measure from the top of the axle to the centerline of the wheel.

take these measurements to the 53 and figure where your wheel centerline will be and see if that is high enough for what you want to do.

    that's what I'd do.

find a 51-55 truck axle instead, it's a few inches narrower, and will fit better

Thanks guys, I don't have the '57 axle available to measure. Apparently my uncle has a couple lying around and it piqued Dad's curiosity. My vote is to just run tall coils and lil' skinny mags on the stock IFS, but Dad supports my wacky ideas most of the time- so gotta listen to his :D
