Gentlemen, have a hard time to get the Fulton installed on my 41 Dodge Business Coupe. A little bend here and there and the shape is okay so far. But the Brackets are way out of angle? I toughr they are universal fit? Is there something wrong? I know it’s not everybody’s taste but i like it. Joe Joe
Was looking at my buddy's '51 Chevy project New Year's Eve and noticed a visor sitting in the corner and told him to sell it to finance some other work on the car; as they are not cool.
From what I've gathered, messing with these things a time or two, the visors with trim around the front are made for specific model cars and aren't meant to be universal. I had one on my AD Chevy panel and it worked well and looked nice. I think it looked good because of the long roof. I sized one up for my jailbar pickup and thought it looked nasty. Put an add on the local CL and had three calls on it within an hour. Took the four bills I made selling it and bought door gl*** and run channel kit They do seem to be quite popular...out there.
yeah that not for your model. Please note if you do get one of these on, make sure there is very good securing or a gap at the center, for the wind to p***. I saw a 3100 pickup driving down doing 50 and the center was flapping in the wind- ready for take off. I be it would do a lot of damage. I was really disturbing and wonky looking.
„ They do seem to be quite popular...out there.„ Lol. i am from out there… The car is 100% factory stock and in perfect condition. I‘ll try to pep it up periodically correct. It’s not a real Hotrod. But on a Business Coupe the Fulton looks Killer in my eyes. So the rear looks another time longer than it is. Joe
I like them...on certain cars. Here's my '50 Ford with one that I found painted darn-near the same color as my car. Previous owner had it in his barn rafters....he bought it new in the 50's.
So he can bug the **** out of those that are too ridged. He has been here for a while (Mar 5, 2014). Maybe "this" car is not a hot rod, but he may have others that are, or had some in the past that were.
I would like to know how I can qualify to proclaim what is cool and what is not like some HAMBers do...
They made them in different lengths a mul***ude of brackets. Your brackets don’t appear to be for your model and the visor appears to be too long. Some ***embly may be required.
...you haters can send me all those damn visors, I'll do ok selling them at swapmeets. ... I do agree they don't belong on true hot rods.
I can never figure why guys want those **** ugly things on their cars that were the first thing we threw in the dumpster when we stripped the gee gaws off a car, If it weren't for Lowrider magazine showing up and showing the Bombs with them they would still be dead and gone. Look in any rod or custom magazine pre 1976 and you will never see a bolt on visor on any fat fender or later ride. If you see one it will be in a photo of grandpa standing beside his sedan with his flannel suit and Sunday hat on. In truth they aren't "visors" they were designed and sold as frost shields to keep the frost off windshields on cars that were parked outside.
Cool. I’ll like frost shields. 46-47 Burbank Cali. skirts, frost shields, extra lights and trim. Mmmmmmm no magazine to feature it in
I can never figure why the same guys have to come on here and mention how they cant stand these "**** ugly visors" every time a thread comes up on one. We know where ya stand on it, pick another thread and just move on rather than insult someones style... I personally dig a visor on the right car. Mine will be a custom bomb...Visor, no chop lowered, shaved, decked, custom skirts and a bunch of other custom body mods.. No "gee gaws" to speak of. To answer the OP you either have the wrong brackets or the wrong visor all together. Check w some Lowrider guys on FBOOK. Id bet they could ID that & what it belongs to in no time. Your car would look great w a visor and some skirts with a nice taildragger stance.
Guess this picture of a well appointed '39 my father-in-law bought in the late '40s goes to show visors are traditional.
I'm guessing this was sarcasm, but just in case.... Lots of automotive factories built lots of Hot Rods over the years, they just didn't call them Hot Rods. Racing has been part of the auto industry since its beginning. The visor thing is a personal thing. We are allowed to install personal things on our rides.
