    the "adel"clamps used are very good for any rod application as they are available in many sizes and are very cheap to buy new,they can be used for fuel ines ,transmission lines and wiring etc , the part numbers you will need to quote is MS21919WDG1 THE LAST NUMBER IS THE SIZE AND THIS CAN GO ALL THE WAY UP TO A MS21919WDG30 WHICH YOU COULD FIT YOUR FIST THROUGH.you can buy em at any aviation supply shop try AVIALL in the USA dont pay more than about 50c each as i pay less than that down here in Australia and theve been shipped in from the USA they are gooood ****! and as youll read in the posts the wires are rarely maked although alot more common now with pre printable shrink wrap tubing available its pretty easy to mark the shrink wrap with a permanent marker and then wrap around the wires then heat with a heat gun until it shrinks ,some places have wire printers but most rely on neat bundling and continuity and earth leak tests
    I work on Helicopters in Oz and repair ,build restore many different aircraft and choppers as well as ex Vietnam Hueys for forest fire work over here as well

  4. Hey Jim, where are you in OZ? I worked with a few of the firefighting Hueys on the south coast of NSW while I was serving. Wondering if some of them were yours.
    You dont need an ex-AJ medic in your workshop?? ;-)
    Doc.

  5. Yeah, saw a few of your 212s and hueys while the last lot of fires were burning on the south coast.
    Im building a 28 RPU, running an early 302. Also have a 38 coupe and an A40 Austin that is a long term g***er project.
    Your T sounds wild!! That would haul ****!!

    yeah i hope it hauls its got a 3.4ltr tojo hemi with twin r33 turbos ,im an old school guy myself but thought id like to have a go a more modern engine even though mines a 1974 itll be running efi and home made computer ,its benn bored to 3.7 ltrs forged pistons etc and was previously running twin turbos it was outa willys coupe that never got finished down your way,and the engine bounced around a few rodders before i got my hands on it real cheap,i had set up the coupe with a tunnel rammed 289 and toploader but i decided to go this way just to be a little different ,im a bit sick of newstalgia it was fun until all the billet boys caught on and spent their 100 grand on a "rat rod"ha ha ,but i mainly picked it because it was something i hadnt done before and lets face it points and plugs are getting a bit easy these days,and with the fuel prices going the way they are i thought it was time to catch up with the times ,although it will be built trad style and im trying to make every thing look like it was built back in the day the turbos are low mounted and the ***osiated pipework will just resemble a shotgun style scoop and the engine itself is unmistakable HEMI but alas its not a chrysler but as a low budget rod it will still fit my bill and like a blindman with a fat chick itll keep me happy

  7. Not much better than a ton of HP, I ran a Blown 427SOHC in a 32 coupe for a while, 8-71 Mooneyham blower and hilborn injection. Fun, expensive and more times than not scared the **** out of me!
    Thats half the fun though............... right?

    I have EXACTLY what you need here. When I cleared out my grandpas shed, he'd died 20 years earlier, I found an old book, fundamental shop training for those preparing for war service. Inside the cover is printed;
    1943
    AMERICAN TECHNICAL SOCIETY
    CHICAGO U.S.A.

    It has a whole section on electrical wiring and splicing in airoplanes. If you want me to take some photos PM me with your email.

    GOT 'EM! WHEW! That was the fastest I've ever saved so many pictures! I know how long it must have taken you to take the pictures, save them to your compouter and then upload them to Photobucket! Thank you so much! I appreciate the effort and can't wait to start reading! That made me want to skip all the building and go right to the wiring! :D

    Thanks again!

    It's called Fundamental shop training for those preparing for war service.
    It's got sections on;
    Common hand tools, Chipping, filling, and s****ing, Hand threading, Linear measurment, Drilling machines, The engine lathe, Airplane construction, Cable splicing , Electrical wiring and splicing, Woodworking, Painting- wood preservation. Rope, splices, and knots.
    It's pretty good, but I have no ida where you'd find one.
