I heard some news yesterday that Traditional Lowrider Magazine has pulled the plug. The only reason I am posting here is because there was a huge thread with great pictures and expectations. Apparently something fell through. I know I subscribed after the post on here and loved my first, and possibly last, two issues. Anuone know anything about this?

besides, lowriders are the customs of the 70's after the hot rod lifestyle went into hibernation for a decade or so...72 monte carlos and gran prixs are the coolest lowriders...how many of todays customizers learned at the feet of their fathers and are controling what we see at the weekend cruises and shows all over town?
    don't sell the lowriders short.

That is exactly how I feel....The talent in that mag is incredible. I heard the guy who was backign the mag took the money and left. They are saying that they are honoring people who paid for subscriptions, we'll see, and they are putting out another magazine along the same lines. It is a shame. The mag is great. Nothing like looking through a mag and liking pretty much every car....and the girls.

It seems like the same thing that happened to Boulevard Mag.

Amen to that question... the last time I knew it was for real was back in 84-85 before the city decided to clean it up, take out the houses and make Santana look "decent".

I'd be interested since that was our Friday and Saturday night entertainment when I was a kid... that and Centennial Park on a Saturday.

Where you'd stumble upon this "fact"? Same place everyone else gets their American Hot Rod / Boyd info?

Nope, we don't own it. And beyond that, Lowrider--the one we do own--is anything but dead.

Don't believe the hype--too many people with too much false info.

Lowrider is not the magazine in question. The magazine was Traditional Lowrider and was presented on this board a few months ago. Anyone who thinks Lowrider is in trouble should go pick one up sometime. I can't imagine the advertising revenue that they are getting. They are up to date and always looking for new markets to advertise. Smart magazine. You can tape three of them together and have a thin phone book.

Trad. Lowrider apparently had the man who fronted the cash pull it for "other ventures". Hopefully they will put out a comparable magazine because it did fill a void in the market. Not the Lowrider isn't a good magazine but Traditional Lowrider narrowed their focus to a target audience. Very good pics and hoochie mammas.

Yeah, I understood that from the get-go...others didn't, and moreover were ***uming that TL was a Primedia publication. Just clarifying false "facts".
