Almost entirely down to bare metal, just a little more clean up to do. Love this look, too bad it’ll rust in a day in NJ bare metal 8BAC4B18-726C-4784-8634-D1759FD8AE9B.jpeg
The damage isn’t too bad, should be rathe simple to fix

Here’s why I’m going with a light teal, it ran this color at one point in its very colorful life

Love the truck. This is my kind of build, bad ***. Do you have any plans for those spindle mounts? Just wondering, I have been kicking around the idea of running some on my drag coupe.

thanks. I may run them on here but if I decide against it, I’ll be saving them for a roadster build

Funny you asked, been top of mind to get back on here with this thread. It’s sitting in my back garage, started working on it again. From the last time I posted I had a kid, started a new job and built a garage. Truck has fallen by the wayside but I’m moving along again. I’ll post some update pics tonight/tomorrow. I’m going to try to stay consistent on updates here, it helps push me to make progress!

Ok here’s some updates. Motor is back from the machine shop and done. Blower might need a rebuild as there is a little play. We’ll see. Debating going full bore into 4 strombergs right away or running a 4bbl to get it running good then flip to stroms later, thinking the latter might be less of a headache. Also probably painting the heads gold as the aluminum looks a bit too modern.

Had the seat upholstered by Jerry Laboranti, I believe he is on here. He’s awesome, seat is awesome. I brought this home, placed it in the truck and decided it was too nice for the truck. So this seat is responsible for me stripping it down and making it nice haha!

That's all @HomemadeHardtop57 , I take zero credit! We high level collaborated on a design and I let him run with it. In my opinion, if you are paying someone to do work for you, this is the way you do it. Find talented people and let them create what they would put in their own personal car.

Trying to spend 30-60mins a day and chip away at the long list. Eventually it’ll add up right? Door bottoms repaired and in epoxy to protect them for now. Still need to knock down the weld and do a little hammer dolly work. Won’t be perfect but good enough with a little mud.

Going to be focusing on the bed. Bed was shortened well over a year ago and welds never knocked down so started in that and a little hammer dolly. The bed also has about a hundred dents so I worked out most on the drivers side pretty well today.

The top rail is really wavy, need to fasten up a jig or something to work this straight. Need to get creative.

I think the light bar needs to be dropped and the headlights a little smaller bolted up what I had, need to find some 34 commercial lights I think

The seat turned out awesome. Here is an example of how I painted my torque thrust wheels. Could be a nice accent to your seat!
