Art & Inspiration Rare Engines

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by John Hatchard, Nov 18, 2016.

  1. Here I am, just in the nick of time, answering a question from 2016!

That is a Brazilian Emi-Sul motor, as fitted to a late-60s Chrysler product, based on a Dearborn-designed French Ford, with an Ardun-ized hemi Ford Flathead V8-60.
There's quite a lot to unpack, but it's an interesting read....

  3. When I see a scammer's ad somewhere I usually ask if they have an engine for a 1945 Henway. Strangely enough, they always have one, but can never send me a picture. Must be really, really rare!

  5. I've been told that Henways are very camera shy, kind of like Sasquatch!

Norm grabowski had a henway truck but it had a sbc in it lol I can remember at a car show once someone asked norm what’s a henway he said usually about 3-4 pounds I laughed but that person didn’t think it was funny but I sure did

  7. Found some more info on the OHC slant six. It is now currently at the Museum of American Speed and they posted these photos with this info:

"Our restoration team is just putting the finishing touches on this very unique Chrysler Slant-six donated from builder, Jim Grundy.
In the early '70s, working as a Mechanical Engineer for Chyrsler, Jim built this (first of its kind) overhead cam for the Slant-six. He donated the engine to MSU for research and decades later rediscovered the engine. Stay tuned for updates!"

    Great info, thanks for sharing!!

It appears Mr. Grunday couldn't sell it and donated it instead.
