    Hello,
What's all involved in installing subrails to a 30/31 ford roadster body? Any special tools required? Is it difficult? Thanks.

No special tools required, I'd recommend doing it with the use of a model A frame as a base.

All depends on how much of the rails are gone and what part of the body. If it’s in the back trunk area just use a 1932 frame as you nibble away most of it anyways.
If the roadster needs patch panels then access to subrails will be easier.
No special tools but Shrinker and stretcher helps as well as Beverly shear

That's kind of a loaded question. What might be easy for you might be hard for someone else. A lot is going to depend on the condition of the rest of the body also. Is there still a rusty subframe in your car? If so there's probably good metal to attach new rails to. If not it's going to get more involved. When I did mine I put everything together with self tapping screws and made sure everything fit good before welding anything in. I'd highly suggest that, I had one tab off by a half inch and the whole quarter panel was bowed out. Easy adjustment when it's just screwed together.

First, check the frame you're going to use for being straight. If it is, bolt the subframe to it with the correct mount blocks and start building the body from front to back. Get the cowl set up properly, then hang the doors, then fit the quarter panels to the doors and work on back...
