  2. Some more - he's a little heavy on the 1957-58-59's because of this black 1957. He went to the dealer with his dad when he bought it new and drove it as his first car. The dealer was Ben Griffin here in Dallas and Ben Jr would go on into the racing world for awhile. They had a tractor dealership as well and until closing it up.

Oh crap - didn't down load the pictures yet.......not really good pictures though....

  3. Looks like a 57 Ford retractable in the picture with the ford hardtop.

  4. Don't think so. That same car is visible in the last photo with the Courier.

  5. Not good photos as I was trying to not scare the owner into stopping me.....that old Chevy has some nice old wheels....and the 1963 500XL has some hot old 390 with a cross ram ? Should have got that picture thru the blister tear drop hood but those hinges were rusty and the hood was fiberglass.

  6. Trying to get to load....and not sitting or rotting is a neighborhood guy and his old high school 1950....he's got to be in his 70's but keeps on going.....has a headlight in the middle of grille....

  7. Buckskin and white '56 Ford Victoria. I'd rather have the Victoria than a Crown Victoria. My mother's youngest sister had a '56 4 door Victoria hardtop, same buckskin and white colors. Is that a '57 or '58 Ford sedan delivery? '58 sedan deliveries carried over '57 tailllights.. Back in the day, nearly every '58 Ford you saw on the road had one or more broken taillight lenses.

Woah! The sleeper cab! A White? Super scarce today-and super desirable-by me at least!

  15. Yes it is a 1957 - and looks to be a SD but wonder about the back window and tail gate - should they be one piece ?

  16. Yes it is a White - I guessed a Mack as he stood beside me and he was quick to point that out - he's quick even in his 80's....really nice guy but he's surrounded now and knows he needs to get rid of stuff. He''l be marking some to crush if the county doesn't renew his permit.

  17. Actually there is one on the other side of the creek/yard where the 57/59 Ranchero's and a wagon or two are - didn't make it over there as it was a week after a rain and still muddy.

  18. When I said sleeper cab he pointed out the lower canpartment below - like for a golf bag on a old roadster or big coupe - he said for tools....

The 57 Courier I had came with one piece rear hatch. Hinged at the top, assist springs were missing, made it a heavy bitch. Don't know if it was an option, but the other 2 that I have seen were the same.
I saw an article one time in Hemmings I think. Production count was 6,187 as I recall.

  20. Thanks....didn't pry to much as we walked the yard - that SDelivery back looked different but it does have some heavy hinges at the top. There's another SD guy around here up in Plano I need to check in with that might know more. He's finishing up his SD and I know he doesn't want another one !

  27. Let’s examine this for a moment, @stillrunners said that the aforementioned vehicle is no longer sitting, therefore said same vehicle has been saved ( rescued that is)

  29. It's on the Forward Look Mopar forum - see if I can grab a picture of the headlight - he's already cut the bad out and going in with the new...
