^^^^ and with that car, they reached the pinnacle of tasteless and ostentatious. The only thing missing is gold plating….

The cowl lights look like they might be gold plated!

Proportion and rake, style and color are exceptional on this one.

post 2356. notice where his steering wheel is and his pitman arm is?

  19. Yea, I was wondering how he pulled that off?

  20. Don't know how that guy did his; but a while back down at the Nats in OKC, I saw one with a 90 gearbox (like we used in dual drive conversions on refuse trucks) with a shaft going forward to the steering box which was laid back so the worm shaft was horizontal. Thought it was kinda weird but; unique.

IDK either, but he could'a used a box that has the arm inside the frame - 40-60's studes, & I think some chevs(?), or a reg-style box; & then run a draglink to another pitman arm inside the frame rail, hooked together at the pivot point above the frame, & then used the outside pitman arm conventionally. Would only need ~1"->1.5" room on the inside of the framerail. Weird, on the street, yes, but the rails did some versions of this. Also could've/would've changed the steering quickness. Looking at the tierod end of the draglink position near the body, its' real close to correct position for correct arc(s) w/the 'bones. Not perfect, not horrible. Or like Rich mentioned, which also solves some problems.

2 old, lots of possible, but my WA guess is a box under, connected to a link behind, with the rod going forward to an inside drag link hanging down from the pivot, with the pivot transferring the same motion to the outside drag link. tsteer1.jpg

Yeah, the "steering box" ahead of the firewall is really just a heavy-duty bell crank, the steering box is under the floor by the driver's feet.
