Welcome! I have been watching a posting on another group of a guy doing the same thing with a 56 customline two door post except he is using a 390. G***er's are getting real popular lately, I am all in as long as it isn't tearing up a really pristine car to start with. Mark

Not running. It’s sitting waiting for a tear down. It’s a 292 automatic.

Welcome aboard. Where are you in Illinois? I'm about 20 miles west of Quincy.

Wow, g***er look is coming back. Had mine back in 70s before gas went to hell. Mine was a mostly street car but was a hell of a lot of fun to tool around in.

Nice thing with going with a g***er is you can make use of a fairly rough body as the 54 in my avatar and still have a lot of fun. I do plan to eventually give it a new coat of primer but have other projects ahead. Only downside is you have to cobble together your own headers. There are many fenderwell header options for Chebbies but not for Fords.

As usual the Chevy guys get all the breaks! I have a Windsor in my falcon. Had to fab headers for it. No fun. I did 1 3/4” stepped to 1 7/8”.

With a little work…SBC headers will fit a Y. It’s actually easier to get a Y flange and cut the tubes of SBC set and spread them to fit. It’s been done many times.

Yes they do for no good reason.
I have a Windsor in the 54 but the exhausts were ported and drilled for the old J302 bolt pattern so I modified some dirt track headers for fender well exit.
I have a Cleveland in my 58. It more of a street/cruiser and I used 69-70 Fairlane/Mustang ch***is headers and they fit pretty well.
