Looked around a bit, coming up empty so…. What ‘open houses’ or other off-campus pre- or during-events are in the LA area during this year’s GNRS? Thanks, John
Kennedy Bros is always a go to, they tend to go to Turlock but with GNRS in early Feb now check IG if they are having an open house. The other place a must when in town is The Early Ford Store in San Dimas. Stokers Hot Rod Factory have an open house Thurs. Waldens Speed Shop and Lucky's Hot Rods are having a GNRS Party again, I was there in 2020... best tacos ever! (IMO) From IG
5 friends and myself are coming for the first time. We'll be arriving Wednesday nite. Anything to do Wednesday night ????
I love this forum.. really. One aspect is the range of geography. In this case, the best answer for an event in California came from a member in Australia. Giddyup, John
Go to In-N-Out on Wednesday. Nothing going on that I know of. Nothing really to do on Wednesday night, The Early Ford Store in San Dimas is open. But you can go there any day of the week.
For you people who are coming to Southern California for the first time, you'll be in for a shock. Our freeways are packed from 3am to 9pm everyday. Be sure to plan your routes before you go anyplace because it's easy to get lost here. Cal-Trans is building all over the place and some of the freeway on and off ramps are closed. Always have a navigator in the car with you to help you. DO NOT GO ANYPLACE BY YOUR SELF. Try to stay out of hard core areas of Pomona and L.A. area. We can tell if you are from out of state and the street scammers will try to sucker you. Don't give anyone gas money. Don't buy anyone's child if someone tries to sell you one. Do not purchase anything from the fruit and flower vendors on the corners. The fruit is old and the flowers are probably dead. Do not give to the fake "Please Help Pay For A Funeral" scammers. Try not carry large amounts of cash on you. You can cancel your credit cards but you can't cancel cash. Try to stay away from the multi color haired or funny dressed liberals. You'll receive a severe scream or tongue lashing from them. Try not to make eye contact with strangers and try to be very courteous as you drive even if you want to cuss someone out and nothing is your fault. The CHP doesn't play around and California traffic citations can be very expensive. Do not get busted for DUI. Don't ask for Adam-12 or Squad-51 or John and Ponch to respond to your needs. It's not funny and we don't like it. There are lots of good places to eat and enjoy. Drive Rt. 66.
^^^^^^ words to live by… and don’t think it can’t be that bad. Just flip someone the bird and get shot!
Also keep away from the mask-less red hats, they will cover you with spittle while ranting about chemtrails and how all the products are wimpy at the same time.
There is no swap meet at GNRS. You must be thinking about the LA Roadster show, which is in June on Father's Day weekend at the same place.
I’ll be at the GNRS Saturday with one of my brothers; I’ll be the grey-haired guy in the HAMB t-shirt. Likely drop by Stoker’s on Thursday. Maybe Walden’s on Saturday evening too. Thanks for the info folks, John
We're from the south side of Chicago. We deal with the same people begging , shooting, scammers , tweakers etc. lol
Check out http://www.socalcarculture.com/events.html There 3 events going on Wednesday. Jan 31. If you are not near any of these, just go to In-N-Out Burger. Even if you ARE near any of these, go to In-N-Out anyways, lol. Be sure to buy a T-shirt.
